Finally a temple traced back to Dwapara yuga is being refurbished

In my Schooling days, I have read in some books in library that Arjuna got astras from Indra and from Lord Shiva on the hill in Vijayawada . Hence the hill is named after Indra as " Indra keeladri" and as Arjuna got Vijaya ( Victory) the place became Vijayavatika which later became Vijayawada. After Arjuna got astras and darshan of Lord Shiva and Indra, pandavas built a small temple there as a memory .

I wondered how I could miss that and asked many concerned and finally got to know from some one that the temple still exists and is in top of hills covered by woods and rocks and is not accessible. I always wished that it should be brought to the lime light ..

Finally today some endowment officers sent recommendations to th concerned authorities about  refurbishing the temple and making it accesable and they agreed verbally to sanction 2crores for the same. Happy!

Though small its a cultural heritage of us forbidden for long. We hardly have temples /monuments of thousands of years of age and that is a defnite need to protect such.

Thanks
